1995 – 1998
Barcelona – co-presented weekly music radio show, ShackAck
1998-2003
Dublin – Jazz FM, 89.8, Dublin area.
Presented two very popular music shows weekly:
Friday, noon until 2 p.m: Getting’ Funked Up for the Weekend
Sunday, 10 until noon: Easy Like Sunday Morning
At the time, no mainstream station was catering for easy listening, and Sunday
morning seemed like the perfect time.
Music direction is an area
I am currently developing, and in 2003 I supervised the music for critically acclaimed
documentary Dust Devils. Directed by young Irish film makers Dearbhla Glynn and
Aprile Blake, this tells the tale of the astonishing Burning Man Festival. I viewed
the documentary as it progressed through editing, and suggested music to suit
each section or scene. I then sourced specific tracks, and the producer took over
when it came to copyright issues.
The Irish Times made Burning
Man their pick of the week when it screened on TG4, and praised
the soundtrack for drawing on ‘over 50 musicians with varied
styles, ranging from electro-tribal to trad, and prono-groove to
avant-garde’ (Irish Times Magazine, 1st May 2004).
2005
